One day a father brought his son to Jesus. The young man was mute and, being possessed by an evil spirit, was often thrown into demonic convulsions. The father said to Jesus, "If you can do anything, have pity on us and help us!" Jesus replied with a rebuke, "What do you mean, 'if you can?' Anything is possible if a person believes!" Instantly the father of the child exclaimed, "I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!" Many times we are guilty of the same thing - not truly believing when we pray. We pray half-heartily, not really expecting God to do whatever it is that we are praying for. Know that your Heavenly Father loves you and nothing brings Him more pleasure than to do the 'impossible' for you. When you seek Him with a whole heart you will discover that He is able and willing to do whatever you ask in His name. Just believe.
"And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." Mark 16:17,18 NKJV
